We do not use or disclose any such information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

We use personal information to:

How We Share Your Information

We do share personal information with the service providers and partners we need in order to run the store, and we do "share" certain information for cross-context behavioral advertising as that term is defined in California law. See the next section.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the following rights.

Right to know. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting or sharing it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.

Right to delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions such as completing a transaction, detecting security incidents, or complying with a legal obligation.

Right to correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We use advertising technology, including the Meta Pixel, that shares online identifiers and browsing activity with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under California law this counts as "sharing." You may opt out at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer of claremae.com, or by emailing support@claremae.com.

Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require this option, so no limitation request is necessary.

Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser.

Financial incentives

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we may offer you a discount on your first order. This is a financial incentive under California law. The value of the incentive is the value of the discount offered, and it is reasonably related to the value your data provides to us through more relevant communications. Participation is entirely voluntary, you give consent when you subscribe, and you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing using the link in any marketing email.

California Shine the Light

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about the personal information we disclose to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Your Rights in Other U.S. States

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights, which may include the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data and certain profiling.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response or by emailing support@claremae.com with "Privacy appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to your appeal within 45 days and, if we deny it, we will explain why and tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

Nevada. Nevada residents may submit a verified request to opt out of the sale of certain covered information by emailing support@claremae.com.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Send your request to support@claremae.com, or use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our footer for opt-out requests.

To protect your account, we will ask you to verify your identity, normally by confirming the email address used for your order and details of a recent purchase. We will not ask you for more information than we need for verification.

We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you and may extend by a further 45 days.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf if they provide written permission signed by you. We may still ask you to verify your own identity directly.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: to keep you signed in, remember your cart, process checkout and protect against fraud. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics: to understand how the site is used and where it can be improved.
  • Advertising: to measure our campaigns and show you relevant ads, including through the Meta Pixel.

You can manage your preferences through the cookie banner on our site, through the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link, or through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent checkout from working.

Email and Text Messages

Email. We send order-related emails to every customer, because they are necessary to complete your purchase. Marketing emails are only sent if you have subscribed. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link and our postal address, in line with the CAN-SPAM Act. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop order-related emails.

Text messages. If we offer SMS marketing, we only send messages to customers who have given express written consent through a separate opt-in. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, you can reply STOP to unsubscribe and HELP for help, and consent is never a condition of purchase.

Children's Privacy

Our store is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email support@claremae.com and we will delete it.

Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and payment processing through PCI DSS compliant providers so that card data never reaches our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

International Transfers

Our store is operated from the Netherlands and hosted on infrastructure located in the United States and other countries. This means your personal information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use contractual safeguards with our providers to protect that information.

Third Party Links

Our site may link to third party websites and platforms, for example carrier tracking pages or social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or to legal requirements. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on this page, and where required we will ask for your consent again.
